Class Descriptions

BEGINNER - For the new student with no previous yoga experience; a relaxing gentle introduction to the basic yoga postures, principles of alignment and breathing techniques. Emphasis is on developing flexibility, strength, and balance. All ages and fitness levels are welcome.

LEVEL I - For those wanting to take their practice to the next level. Poses are held for longer periods and incorporated into the sun salutations. Introductory backbends and inversions will be explored.

LEVEL II - This class will appeal to people who have prior yoga experience, knowledge of the basic poses and confidence in their strength and endurance. The poses will flow with purpose and vitality. handstands, headstands and arm balances will be included. Yoga philosophy and pranayama techniques are also woven into the class.

GENTLE YOGA - This class provides an opportunity for those rehabbing and injury or returning to yoga practice after a prolonged period of inactivity. The emphasis will be on a slower paced, "restorative" practice. No prior yoga experience is necessary to participate and all are welcome!

NIA - Through Nia practice, you learn to foster awareness of your life through physical sensation, allowing the Voice of The Body to direct your actions and choices, leading to a general state of what Nia calls Dynamic Ease. Practiced barefoot to music, each person is invited to move at his or her own level of intensity, adapting the 52 Moves (lead by the teacher) to their body potential at any given moment. While delivering cardiovascular, whole-body conditioning, Nia creates a loving relationship with one's own body by tuning into The Body's Way: the innate intelligence of the body.

Class Fees

$12.00 Drop-In Fee
$10.00 per class for 10 or more pre-paid classes
$8.00 per class for 20 or more pre-paid classes

Intro Special: $15 for your first week of unlimited classes.
