Linda L: is a certified Nia Technique instructor. After many of years of various fitness practices including; Yoga, Pilates, running, group aerobics, several gym memberships, organized dance and others Linda discovered the Nia Technique. After about 2 weeks of attending classes at the studio head quarters in downtown Portland she decided that this practice would be the last stop. She also decided that she would pursue a teaching practice and pass the joy and bliss along. After experiencing some discomfort from arthritis for a few years she thought she may suffer this pain for the rest of her life, but her practice with Nia has changed that, no more arthritis pain!! She now is passing on the joy of movement to others at the Milwaukie Wellness Center.
Through Nia practice, you will learn to foster awareness of your life through physical sensation, allowing the Voice of The Body to direct your actions and choices, leading to a general state of what Nia calls Dynamic Ease. Practiced barefoot to music, each person is invited to move at his or her own level of intensity, adapting the 52 Moves (lead by the teacher) to their body potential at any given moment. While delivering cardiovascular, whole-body conditioning, Nia creates a loving relationship with one's own body by tuning into The Body's Way: the innate intelligence of the body.
Nia blends dance, martial arts, and healing arts, to create a dynamic fitness and lifestyle practice that changes how people experience their body and exercise! Come dance, kick, stretch, and laugh with us!
